California and the Reunification of Dada and Max

So I was in San Antonio for about six days without the kid. The max amount of nights I like to be away from Max is about 1. After that, I get antsy to play with him. I flew from their to LA and drove down to Newport Beach to find Caitlin, Max, Bek, Kyle and Amber at an amazing pizza joint. I walked in, snuck up behind Max, and tapped him on the shoulder.

He turned, lost his little marbles, and within a few minutes we were putting stickers on our noses and laughing.

One happy kid to have his dada back? More like one happy dada to have his kid back. Unfortunately I got me no pics of the crew or the food...maybe Bek can hook you up on her private, exclusive blog.

But I did get the morning after shot! We stayed an amazing night at Bek's parents house and said goodbye to them as they headed up to San Francisco. We, on the other hand, stayed in CA and embarked on a journey of fun.

With BIG BIKES! We rented bikes and rode them along the Newport Beach coastline. Max was amped, especially when we saw a donut stand and said he could stop to get one.

YouTube Video

Max walking with his prized donuts on the pier.

Eating donuts while watching surfers do their thing. Of course Max devoured the frosting and sprinkles, leaving the rest of the donut in ruin.

We rode until Max had about enough, which was surprisingly a long time.

Then we went down to the Newport Beach harbor area to sail off to Balboa island. Max so dapper in his colorful clothes.

He chased a bouncy ball that we got him until it went down a drain. He took it like a man.

The ferry area...home of the infamous banana stand on Arrested Development.

Mama, giving Max mad kisses of love. He was having such a great time.

He partied in an arcade for a while and kept asking me for money. Where do kids pick up this stuff so young?

Then we rode the ferry to Balboa Island with puppy dog. Puppy Dog is Max's new stuffed animal obsession.

We stopped for lunch at a seedy diner. Okay, it was actually really nice. That is Max's fake cockroach.

Max couldn't decide what to get. It was between French fries and beans and rice.

He chose correctly it would seem by the excitement in his face! Yeah French fries! Is it wrong that he ate French fries almost every day for five days? At least it's food.

More to come with Chris and Heather and Doug and Tamara, Disneyland and non-stop fun!
