Jai-alike this game

What is Jai-alai? This is a question you have probably been asking yourself for years and years. Let's use the photos below to try and figure it out.

Well, it is played in a big white building that looks more like a wear house than anything else. By the look of the cars, the people who attend this event are either white trash, mafia or pimps...or all three.

Apparently there is a pelota involved...aka a ball. Also, it might wreak havoc on your face if it met you at 150 mph.

It is clearly a sport, and has been around for long enough to make these old timey kind of posters. Also, it's foreign...and not Hawaiian like I originally guessed looking at the name.

It's played by a lot of short sexy men with foreign names.

Finally, it is played on this gigantic racket ball court and in a place where creepy people can sit in an auditorium and bet on who is going to win and shout obscenities at the players.

Yes, Jai-alai is a crazy *#+ sport played by Europeans and run by the mafia in southern Florida. I can't tell you what a messed up experience it was going to watch this on a Friday night. It literally was like the dog races, but instead of dogs it was short Europeans playing racket ball with lacrosse type things throwing balls at crazy speeds.

It certainly isn't a game for the weak...I think these people really train hard for this like any other sport. I wonder if they ever wonder if their whole life is a waste when drunk fat dudes are yelling at them from the sidelines because they just lost $3.

We went with Das Britt, Landho, and Mello Yello. Apparently they frequent this place by choice man.

Caitlin had a blast!

No one can say we aren't trying to have some new experiences in our new environment, and we have some great friends to do it with. What other shenanigans will Florida offer us?

Please tell me that from now on when we hang out, I'm the furthest one from the camera when you're taking pictures. I'm started to get a chubby complex with this belly and the double chin that keeps showing up in your photos. Oh and P.S. so glad you guys moved here to enjoy these kinds of activities with us!

Jai Alai is a top word in NY Times crossword puzzles. Now I have a visual to go with it. Thanks!

Jai-Alai is also a client of Sterling Cooper's on the show Mad Men. The founder's of the sport were trying to make it a national sport in the US.
