Okay, maybe I haven't left the house yet. And maybe Caitlin called a friend of ours to come take me to school so I don't have to walk sick in the wayyyyyyyy below freezing temperatures. But still.

All I have to say is EWWW! I'm glad your fingers really didn't freeze off, but it sure is cold!
You're living all my grade school experiences in grad school, but I bet living a few blocks from the lake is a little colder than dear Oak Park.
